Big Day For My Little Man

So, my five year old has a bit of a resistance to trying new things. His staple diet is pretty much hot dogs, mac and cheese and peanut butter sandwiches. I have to sneak stuff in his food in order to get him to eat vegetables. Well, today I broke out the breadmaker and tried some zucchini bread. He was so excited to try it- which amazed me. Then, when he did try it there was no hesitation and he loved it so much he took off with the whole loaf. It was a pretty big day for him. Next, he decided to take the training wheels off his bike. I told him he had to wait for Daddy to get home- thinking I might be chasing him for a while with my hand on his seat (I was picturing my dear swedish friend as I watched her run up and down the street holding her son, Marcus' bike one day. I admired her resilience). SO, Dad got home and took the wheels off. He took off like a pro. A few wobbles and a crash or two but overall he was amazing! So of course Mom took a video of it. It's hilarious. He took off and ran straight into the mailboxes. If I'd gotten a better shot it would have been AFV worthy...

I'm baaaack. Two years later.

So, I decided to start blogging again. Maybe not as fiercely as I'd like to- but it's a start. Maybe I can actually keep all my "stuff" in one place. Right. Not gonna happen.

So I had my first book signing today. It was awesomely horrible weather. Overall it was fun, met some cool people and had some great chats. That's what life's about, eh?

The Joys of Parenting a 3 year old...

I was locked out of my house the other day by my three year old. He thought this was funny. . . Mom didn't. My five year old happened to be outside with me- she had followed me out to ask a question while I was running the baby's diaper to the trash (this is what I get for not having the cloth diapers cleaned and ready to use). My baby was in the house sleeping with my little tazmanian devil now giggling that mommy's face was red and she looked like she was gonna pop. So he must have wanted to prove what a big little man he was and how he could take care of things and didn't need to let mom back inside... so he ran into the bedroom and came out dragging the baby by his neck... yep, mom lost it and broke the window to the kitchen door with a spatula off the barbecue, then grabbed the five year old and dropped her through the window so she could unlock the door. Yes, he ran and hid from mom cuz I don't think in all of his giggles he once thought momma was gonna smash a window. Funny what instincts will do. So, he likes to keep me on my toes, cuz the very next day he stripped down naked first thing in the morning and ran outside and squatted on the wall in my front yard and pooped. How am I going to survive this little spirited man? I didn't really think over the consequences of marrying his father... Not sure why the thought didn't cross my mind as he was telling me about all of his boyhood adventures while we were dating that someday I might have to raise a miniature version of him. The best part? His little brother is showing signs of following close in his footsteps. Help me.

The Perfect Meal

Could there be a more delicious, mouth watering meal? Flat iron steak cooked medium to medium rare with swiss cheese melted on top, sushi and a glass of white zin. Heaven. My husband served me this wonderful meal tonite. I think if I were to choose a last meal this would be it. If I were to choose my favorite meal, this would be it. If my husband wants a little nookie, he knows how to get it. Good job hunny. Mmmmm....

My Dream Man...

I can't believe it's almost been five years since I met the man of my dreams. He is the most perfect in every way. He washes dishes, gives me massages, gives me sanity breaks, is an amazing father, puts up with my tantrums, keeps me entertained, supports my insane ideas, is my muse and is a gentle, loving, compassionate husband (not to mention the biggest smartass I know). I love you hunny.

My Little Mama Chloe

My little supermodel loves to pose for the camera. Every time I take a picture of one of the boys she poses for me and begs for her picture to be taken too.

She is growing into such a beautiful little girl inside and out. She is an amazing big sister and is my little informer. She loves to keep tabs on her little brothers and let mom know what they are up to at all times. It is a great assistance to me and I am grateful she is so willing to be my little mama.

We recently decided to pull her out of public school and homeschool her. She loves it and has absorbed so much information since we have made the change. I love having her home with me and am excited for the years of learning we have together. She is definitely my little sponge. Her wit amazes me and her view of life is absolutely intriguing.
